Iceland Ring Road Holidays
The Ring Road, Þjóðvegur 1, is a national road around Iceland that many use to travel around the country and explore all that Iceland has to offer. It offers some of the most popular sights of Iceland such as Seljarlandsfoss Waterfall, the capital of the North Akureyri and the Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon. There are also plenty of options along the road to visit more remote areas such as Snæfellsnes Peninsula and the Westfjörds. No ring road trip would be complete without visiting the Golden Circle, home to Gullfoss waterfall, Geysir geothermal area and Þingvellir National Park. The total length of the road is 1,332km, meaning the ideal length to travel the full circle (without fjords and detours) would be about 7-10 nights. If you have more time, you can fit more detours. There are many options when traveling the circle, the most popular being a self drive holiday or a fully guided tour.
