Fresh air and beautiful nature. The race is held in June every year. The summers in the Faroe Islands are cool and well suitable for marathons. Participate in half or full marathon, the choice is yours. There is no traffic on the roads just you and maybe a few sheep! The course is challenging but beautiful, steep in places but stunning scenery and natural landscapes guaranteed.

Itinerary Suggestion
Day 1 - Arrival (from London Gatwick) - Saturday
Departure from London Gatwick in the evening (option from Edinburgh Thursday - Monday) to Vágar Airport in the Faroe Islands. Transport from the International airport to your hotel takes about 45 minutes. Arrival at the hotel between 11 pm - 11.45pm.
Overnight at a 4 star hotel, Hilton Garden or similar in standard double/twin room (hotel room upgrade available).Day 2 - Tórshavn Marathon - Sunday
It's race day! Race start at 1pm.
If you are looking for a challenging marathon and not a flat one, this is the race for you! The perfect conditions the weather is calm, often partially misty and around 13 degrees Celsius as participants set out from the City Centre of Tórshavn.
The race start is in the heart of the City and you will run a loop of 5,5 km back to the start/finish. Half marathon and 5,5 km Health Run will run the same 5,5 km loop in Tórshavn. Then run north out of the city to the village Kaldbak and return. (Subject to change).
The course, which is free from traffic, is hilly and has two long hard hills just before the turning point. These hills must be navigated on the way home too. The hills are also part of the marathon course, but the marathon runners continue past the hills to a completely flat stretch of road along the Kaldbak fiord to the turning point in the village Kaldbak. The course is in its entirety a great nature experience and challenging.

Day 3 - Day to Explore the Faroe Islands - Monday
Explore some of the unique Islands of Faroe Islands. We will send you a list of options available. You can select from many day tours to some of the stunning Islands of the Faroes for example Mykines, Vestmanna and Northern Islands along with many more options.
We can assist in booking. Pick up and drop for the tours is from your hotel.
You may also just want to relax and enjoy your day in one of the worlds smallest capital Tórshavn by taking a walk – on your own – in the old part of town “úti á Reyni” and one of the worlds oldest parliament “Tinganes”.
Day 4 - Departure
Early morning flights to London Gatwick. Flight departs from Vágar Airport 07.45am (pick up from hotel 05.45am).
Transfer from hotel to the airport.
