Húsavík Whale Watching Break
On this short break you will travel to North Iceland and get the amazing opportunity the see the whales in the capital of Whale Watching in Europe, Húsavík. Experience a unique adventure at sea watching the wonders of nature in the beautiful surroundings of Skjálfandi Bay, sheltered by the stunning mountains of Vík. Spend your first and last night in Reykjavík and two nights in Húsavík. During your time in Reykjavík, you also have the opportunity to explore the more well known areas in South Iceland such as Golden Circle and South Shore.

ITINERARY - 4 NIGHTS
Day 1 - Arrival
Departure from the UK - arrival at Keflavik Airport. Individual transfer by Flybus shuttle bus from Keflavik Airport to your accommodation in Reykjavík where you‘ll spend the night.
Reykjavik is modern city and so much to do and see. We‘ll provide some ideas to help you explore Iceland's capital on your own. Depending on the time of your arrival, you may also have time for an optional excursion.
Overnight stay in Reykjavík, 3 star hotel including breakfast.
Day 2 - Travel to Húsavík
Early morning flight from Reykjavík airport to Húsavík airport, duration of the flight is about 50 minutes. At the airport in Húsavík you will be transfer by taxi to your hotel in Húsavík. After your lunch you will go on a whale watching tour.
Whale Watching Tour from Húsavík Harbor
Departure from Húsavík harbour is at 12:00.pm. Húsavík is the Whale Watching Capital of Europe. Discover the magnificent nature of Skjalfandi bay observing whales, dolphins and sea birds in their natural habitat.
After your Whale Watching tour you can visit the Húsavík Whale Watching museum where you can get detailed and interesting information about whales and their habitat, see whale skeletons of several species and fascinating facts about the whales. The Húsavík Whale Museum is located in the downtown by the harbor.
Enjoy the night at leisure.
Day 3 - Explore Húsavík or take an optional day tour
The day is yours to explore Húsavík and the surrounding area. Relax in Húsavík's swimming pool or book one of our fantastic day tours. Húsavík is a fishing town on the north coast of iceland on the shores of Skjálfandi bay with 2.237 ibhabitants. The most famous landmark of the town is the wooden church Húsavíkurkirkja, built in 1907. In town there is also a civic museum about culture and biology. Among other things, it shows a stuffed polar bear (arrived in Grimsey in 1969) and ancient boats.

Day 4 - Flight back to Reykjavík - Explore the capital or take an optional day tour
Early flight from Húsavík to Reykjavík capital. You will be transfer from your hotel to Húsavík airport by taxi. When you arrival in Reykjavík you check you in to your Hotel.
Reykjavík is an exciting modern city with lots to see and do. Relax in one of the many spas and swimming pools or book one of our fantastic day tours, one of the most popular tour is the "Golden Circle Tour". We will send you plenty of suggestions of what to do with your free day including the “must see´s” in the city.
Optional Excursion: Afternoon / Evening Golden Circle Tour
The Golden Circle is a fascinating experience. You can explore the world-famous Geysir geothermal area, a geothermal field where hot springs are in abundance, geysers erupt and pools of mud bubble.
You also stop by the magnificent Gullfoss waterfalls and visit Þingvellir national park, the original site of the oldest existing parliament in the world. At Þingvellir, the great Atlantic rift is clearly visible; a rift that is slowly pulling Iceland apart along tectonic plates.
Enjoy Reykjavík at night.
Day 5 - Departure
Departure to the UK from Keflavík International Airport.
Depending on your flight time, you may want to explore Reykjavík in the morning or take an optional tour to the world famous Blue Lagoon Geothermal Spa on your way to the airport.
Optional Excursion: Visit to the Blue Lagoon
Optional trip to the Blue Lagoon on your way to the airport. Enjoy the Blue Lagoon for 2-3 hours. You can book a treatment if you like, have a lunch at the Blue Lagoon or just relax in this wonderful spa. If you have a morning flight back to the UK you can visit the Blue Lagoon on arrival if flight time allows or as a day trip from Reykjavík on one of your free days.
